यूपी सरकार प्रदेश में Smart Prepaid Meter Scheme in UP शुरू करने जा रही है। जिसके लिए योगी सरकार ने पूरी प्लानिंग कर ली है। उप्र के ऊर्जा मंत्री के अनुसार इस सरकारी योजना में 15 नवंबर से राज्य सरकार लोगों के घरों में प्रीपेड स्मार्ट मीटर (Smart Meter Installation Project in Uttar Pradesh) लगाने का काम शुरू करने जा रही है। यूपी प्री-पेड स्मार्ट बिजली मीटर योजना (Smart Meter Yojana in UP) के शुरुआती चरणों में यह प्रीपेड स्मार्ट मीटर सरकारी अफसरों, जनप्रतिनिधियों और मंत्रियों के घरों में लगाये जाएंगे। क्यूंकी सरकार चाहती है की प्रदेश की जनता को सस्ती बिजली मिले। यूपी के ऊर्जा मंत्री ने कहा कि बिजली का बिल जमा करने के मामले में सरकारी अफसरों, जनप्रतिनिधियों और मंत्रियों का रिकॉर्ड बिलकुल भी ठीक नहीं है। इसी बात का ध्यान रखते हुए सबसे पहले इन्हीं लोगों के सरकारी घरों में प्रीपेड स्मार्ट मीटर योजना (Smart Meter Project in UP) के तहत बिजली मीटर लगाये जाएंगे। उप्र सरकार ने 50 लाख प्रीपेड स्मार्ट मीटर (Smart Meter Scheme in UP) के ऑर्डर दे दिये हैं। बिजली विभाग के आकड़ों के अनुसार यूपी में सरकारी विभागों पर बिजली डिपार्टमेंट का 13,000 करोड़ रुपये बकाया है। जिसका किश्तों में भुगतान का विकल्प भी राज्य सरकार ने दिया था पर कोई फायदा नहीं हुआ।

बिजली विभाग स्मार्ट मीटर योजना (Smart Meter Installation Project in Uttar Pradesh) को शुरू करने के पीछे योगी सरकार के निम्न्लिखित उद्देश्य हैं -
प्रीपेड स्मार्ट बिजली मीटरों (Smart Meter Yojana in UP) से आगे के समय में सरकारी अफसरों, जनप्रतिनिधियों और मंत्रियों के द्वारा बिजली का भुगतान समय पर किया जा सकेगा। क्यूंकि अगर बिजली का उपयोग करना है तो उन्हे पहले अपनी जरूरत के हिसाब से रीचार्ज कराना होगा । बिजली के बिल का भुगतान समय पर होने से विभाग पर भार कम हो जाएगा, जिससे उन पैसों का इस्तेमाल सरकार लोगों के लिए अन्य सुविधाएं देने में कर सकती है। इससे आने वाले समय में बिजली की दरों में भी कमी आएगी, जिससे सस्ती बिजली सभी को मिल सकेगी ।
आज के समय में सबसे बड़ी समस्या बिजली चोरी की है जिसका समाधान प्रीपैड मीटर के माध्यम से हो सकता है। क्यूंकि इन मीटरों में चोरी करने पर बिजली विभाग को साफ-साफ पता चल जाएगा की स्मार्ट मीटर (Smart Meter Project in UP) में छेड़छाड़ की गई है वो भी सबूत के साथ , बिजली वितरण में होने वाले हानि में भी इस प्रीपेड स्मार्ट मीटर योजना से कमी आएगी जो एक बहुत बड़ी समस्या है । हमारे भारत देश में पूरी दुनिया में सबसे ज्यादा बिजली उत्पादन होती है फिर भी हमारे देश में बिजली दर ज्यादा है। ऐसा इसलिए है क्यूंकि कुछ लोग बिजली के बिल का भुगतान नहीं करते। इसके अलावा बहुत लोग बिजली की चोरी करते हैं ।
जिसकी वजह से चोरी की हुई बिजली का बोझ भी उन लोगों पर आ जाता है जो ईमानदारी से अपना बिल भरते हैं और देश के बारे में सोचते हैं।इस अभियान को चरणों में खत्म किया जाएगा पहले चरण में 1 लाख स्मार्ट प्रीपेड मीटर (Smart Prepaid Meter Yojana UP) लगाए जाएंगे। अभी तक पूरे प्रदेश में लगभग 7 लाख स्मार्ट प्रीपेड मीटर (Uttar Pradesh govt. Smart Prepaid Meter Scheme) लगाये जा चुके हैं और 2022 तक पूरे प्रदेश में सभी ग्राहकों को इसके दायरे में लाया जाएगा। इसके अलावा केंद्र सरकार भी आने वाले समय में इस तरह की तकनीक पर काम शुरू करेगी जिससे बिजली चोरी की समस्या से बचा जा सके।
1 Crore Prepaid Electricity Meters by UPPCL in Uttar Pradesh
Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL) is going to install 1 Crore Prepaid Electricity Meters in UP under the Saubhagya scheme. These smart meters will get installed by the uttar pradesh government to minimize the power theft and increase the revenue. UP govt. focuses on providing electricity connection to each household under Pradhan Mantri Sahaj Bijli Har Ghar Yojana to ensure “Power for All”. This installation of one crore smart meters will bring technological upgrade in meter readings. These meters also possess a tracking device from where any consumer can track their actual consumption without manual recording. This UPPCL Prepaid Meter Yojana will ensure turnaround of UPPCL and other power distribution companies (Discom) by reducing the line losses to 15%. The Smart Meters enables the power department officials to track actual consumption of consumers with online subscriptions and readings. Installation work of these pre-paid meters in Uttar Pradesh has already been started.
What is UP Prepaid Smart Meter Yojana Under UP Prepaid Smart Meter Yojana
UPPCL will install prepaid meters in 13 districts with maximum line losses. These areas include Kanpur, Varanasi, Meerut, Gorakhpur, Bareilly and Lucknow. UPPCL will also provide the facility of recharge of pre-paid meters in advance even with a small amount of Rs 50. To get benefits of prepaid electricity meter yojana in UP, people can submit any of the following documents as id proof – Aadhar card, Pan card, Ration card, Driving licence, Voter card or Bank Passbook. UPPCL has already given the tender of supply of 1 crore smart meters in up through Energy Efficiency Services Ltd (EESL). Now, Genus Power Infrastructures will supply 50 lakh, L&T will supply 30 lakh and Allied Engineering will supply 20 lakh prepaid meters under UP Prepaid Smart Meter Yojana. Central govt. wants to minimize the line losses suffered by DISCOMS which could be done through 100% metering of all households. Govt. will make installation of prepaid meters for all small consumers and smart meters for large ones to provide “electricity to all”.
UPPCL Prepaid Electricity Meter to Reduce Line Loss
Power System of UP incurs a large number of line losses. To reduce the line losses, installation of pre-paid electricity meters in an imperative requirement. UPPCL will follow a multi-prolonged strategy to tackle line losses through UP Prepaid Smart Meter Yojana. As per the new guidelines of Union energy ministry, all Discoms whose line losses are above 15% will not be eligible for loan from power finance corporation and rural electrification. So, the state govt. wants that each and every household in the state will get an uninterrupted (24*7) power supply. The benefits of installation of Smart meters in UP includes reduction in the cost of bill in accordance with the per-capita consumption. Moreover, UP Prepaid Smart Meter Yojana will improve the overall efficiency of Discoms.
